Day 1 - Unazuki onsen

Begin your journey at Kurobe-Unazukionsen station before taking a private car to discover the town of Unazuki Onsen. Nestled in the foothills of Mt. Yaotome, Inami is a place rich with craftsmanship and history. Known throughout Japan for their intricate woodcarving, Inami is home to around 200 artisans. Visit the Zuisenji Temple, one of the largest wooden temples in Japan adorned with beautiful carvings with a history dating back to 1390. At night, stay in a former artisan’s house and enjoy a workshop with a local craftsman to make your own creation.

Day 3 - Gokayama

Gokayama, located in Toyama, is a picturesque village known for its traditional thatched-roof houses, which are designated as UNESCO World Heritage sites. Delve into the local culture by participating in making washi paper and making sasara, the traditional instrument used in the village’s folk dances.

Day 4/5 - Kanazawa
金沢
On your first day in Kanazawa explore the towns samurai district, famous Omicho fish market, and Kenroku-en, one of Japan’s three most famous gardens. Paint your own Kutani ceramic teacup in “Kanazawa-nuri” style, layering on colors in a technique similar to Japanese lacquerware.
On your second day, dive into the rich history of Higashi-chaya, Kanazawa’s geisha district. Learn to play the shamisen at a maker’s workshop, enjoy a tea ceremony from a master, making your own wagasa umbrella, and then in the evening see all those combine at a private performance with geisha.
